The Bills are bringing back two familiar faces on defense, signing DT Jordan Phillips and DT Quinton Jefferson to the 53-man roster, the team announced Wednesday. Both are one-year deals.
Phillips was released by the Cowboys after Tuesday's NFL Trade Deadline. In 2024, Phillips appeared in the first two games of the season for the Cowboys before going on injured reserve on Sept. 18 with a wrist injury. Dallas designated Phillips to return on Oct. 23 but did not activate him in Week 8 or 9.
This will mark Phillips' third stint with the Bills, most recently coming in the 2022-23 seasons. In 26 games across those two seasons, Phillips totaled 35 tackles, four sacks and 11 QB hits.
Jefferson spent the 2020 season with the Bills where he totaled 23 tackles, three sacks and one forced fumble. He spent the first nine weeks of the season with the Cleveland Browns where he recorded six tackles and one sack in five games.
Jefferson was released by the Browns earlier this week and joins Buffalo's 53-man roster going into Week 10. Since coming into the league in 2016, Jefferson has totaled 198 tackles, 27.5 sacks and four forced fumbles.
Jefferson will wear No. 71 with the Bills.
