Bills GM Brandon Beane lamented that he was unable to come out of last weekend's draft without a defensive tackle among their new additions, saying the draft board just didn't fall their way. He also hinted that he would try to add a veteran to the roster in the coming weeks.
On Tuesday, Buffalo signed free agent DT Poona Ford to a one-year deal.
Ford, 27, is a five-year veteran who has spent his entire career with the Seattle Seahawks after they signed him as an undrafted rookie. All Ford did was become a full-time starter by his second NFL season. A fireplug of a defensive tackle at 5-11, 310 pounds, Ford is a run stuffer by trade and has 20 tackles for loss over his last three seasons with seven sacks.
Ford will strengthen what is already a veteran-laden defensive interior.
