Saturday will be the final opportunity for some depth players to convince the coaching staff that they deserve consideration for the 53-man roster. Here's a look at five players in particular who hope to do some convincing.
1. CB Te'Cory Couch
The undrafted rookie free agent out of Miami has been a regular at nickel corner. He's made some plays on the ball, but his time on the field has been limited in the preseason. That won't be the case Saturday, and he'll need to make the most of it.
2. OT Richard Gouraige
A practice squad player as a rookie, Gouraige is trying to land a depth role at guard and tackle. It'll need to be a big time performance Saturday to push past some other depth players on Buffalo's offensive line.
3. DE Kingsley Jonathan
He made the 53-man roster last season and is coming off a solid performance last week in Pittsburgh. A repeat performance of last week on special teams and defense could cement his place on the roster.
4. WR Xavier Johnson
The undrafted rookie wideout put together perhaps his most consistent week of practice this past week. If he can carry similar consistency into Saturday's game and put forth a good performance, a practice squad spot could be his come next week.
5. LB Eddie Ulofoshio
After missing parts of the preseason with a rib injury, the rookie fifth-round pick will need to show his mental reps kept him sharp to physically execute in what will be his most extensive playing time this preseason. He needs a quality performance to demonstrate his game is on the ascent.
