A familiar face is returning to Buffalo. On Thursday, Arizona free agent Jordan Phillips signed a one-year deal.

For Phillips (6-6, 324) it's his second stint with the Bills after playing almost two full seasons with the club from 2018-2019. The defensive tackle is uncommonly athletic for his size and demonstrated an ability to play both the nose and three-technique (outside shade of the guard) defensive tackle positions in Buffalo's defensive scheme.

His 2019 season proved to be the most fruitful of his career as he was a disruptive force on Buffalo's defensive interior. Phillips registered a career-high 31 tackles including 13 for loss, a single-season best 9.5 sacks and 16 quarterback hits.

Here's a list of players the Bills have signed in free agency this year.

That production put a premium on his services the following offseason when he became a free agent. He signed a three-year deal with Arizona.

Phillips, 29, gave indication that he'd be signing with Buffalo late Wednesday afternoon when he put a post on Instagram that read as follows.

"Thank you for everything Cardinals. You changed my life forever. Appreciate it, but the heart wants what the heart wants. Let's go Buffalo."
