The Bills have signed punter Lachlan Edwards and released punter Kaare Vedvik
Edwards joins the Bills after spending the last four seasons with the New York Jets. The punter has played in 64 games and averaged 45.9 yards per punt last season. Edwards' career average is 45.5 yards per punt on 338 punts. He has pinned 108 punts inside the opponent's 20-yard line.
Edwards leaves the Jets with three of the highest single season net punt averages in team history. His career-best of 41.6 net yards per punt came in 2019. The punter's career net average is 40.2 yards per punt.
Edwards was drafted by the Jets in the seventh round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He attended Sam Houston State and is a native of Australia. Edwards began punting in 2012 after having success as an All-Australian University Australian Rules Football player.
