The Bills are adding a weapon to their running back room. Running back Damien Harris has signed a one-year deal with Buffalo.
The RB is quite familiar with the Bills as he spent the last four seasons playing for the New England Patriots.
Harris, 5-11 and 213 pounds, has played in 38 games and started in 34 in his four-year NFL career. Last season, he played in 11 games and had 106 attempts for 462 rushing yards, three rushing touchdowns and averaged 4.4 yards per attempt.
Harris' best season came in 2021 when he started in 15 games and racked up 202 carries for 929 rushing yards, 15 rushing touchdowns, averaged 4.4 yards per carry. His 15 rushing TDs ranked fifth among NFL RBs that season and he also caught 18 passes for 132 yards as well.
In his four years with the Patriots, Harris totaled 449 carries, 2,094 rushing yards, 20 rushing touchdowns, averaged 4.7 yards per carry and grabbed 40 catches for 281 passing yards. Ball security is another strength of Harris' as he has just two fumbles lost in his pro career.
The RB was drafted by the Patriots in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Alabama. He had two 1,000-yard seasons at Alabama and was a two-time national champion (2015, 2017). The Alabama product is from Richmond, Kentucky.
