MDS's take: The Bills have lost two in a row, but if there's one team they can bounce back against, it's the Jets.
MDS's pick: Bills 38, Jets 10.
Florio's take: The Bills get the next best thing to a bye week after playing a couple of good teams.
Florio's pick: Bills 28, Jets 7.
I'm not that worried about Josh Allen. He's played better than the numbers show the last two weeks, with his QB20 ranking from PFF in those games sounding about right. I am that worried about the Bills' defense, which is soft up front and tentative in the back, like a nightmare mullet. To be clear: I'm not they could struggle with the Jets worried because I've watched every Jets snap this season just so you don't have to.
Buffalo Bills 33, New York Jets 10
People have stopped talking about Josh Allen as a candidate for the N.F.L.'s Most Valuable Player Award. His outrageous four-game start to the season has given way to consecutive disappointing games, and a pair of losses for the Bills (4-2). To be fair, losing to Kansas City and Tennessee is not exactly an indictment of Allen or his teammates, and the offensive machine of the first four weeks should return in earnest against the Jets (0-6). Picking a team to win by two touchdowns is always an enormous risk — a few meaningless scores in garbage time can turn a blowout into a margin of 10 or fewer — but Gang Green has no one capable of slowing down wide receivers Stefon Diggs, John Brown and Cole Beasley, and Buffalo may want to work out some of its recent frustration on the worst team in the N.F.L.
Pick: Bills -13
The Bills have lost two straight and Josh Allen has struggled. But it's the run defense that needs to be better. They have the perfect tonic to fix it all in the Jets. Look for Allen to get back on track as the Bills break their losing streak.
